About Mrs. DeMars
My name is Mrs. DeMars. I am a Tuolumne County native. I was born and raised in Jamestown, California, and I attended Jamestown Elementary and Sonora High School. Following high school, I went to Columbia College and then later transferred to the University of California, Davis. I received a bachelor's degree in Geology in 2011. I later pursued a teaching credential through CalState TEACH at CSU Fresno and served as a student teacher at Twain Harte School during the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 school years. I received my teaching credential in the Spring of 2014.
I spent my first year teaching as a 6th-grade math and science teacher, and have taught both 4th and 5th-grade. Currently, I find myself working with 4th grade students in the Sierra Nevada mountains. I am passionate about math and science instruction and the use of technology in the classroom. It is because of these passions that I participated in the STEM Tracks grant through Tuolumne County. I and earned a Masters in Education through the Teachers College of San Joaquin in Educational Inquiry with an emphasis in STEM.
